Access to orbit opened up. The way back hasn't kept pace.

Zavity is building Gravion, a return capsule for small research payloads, designed in India.

THE CASE FOR RETURN

01

Return is the gap.

Sending a small experiment to orbit is now something you can book. Bringing it back, when the researcher needs it, is still limited.

02

The timing is right.

Orbital research is shifting from government space stations to commercial platforms, as the International Space Station approaches retirement after 2030. That research will need ways home.

03

Our focus.

Small, dedicated payloads. India's launch access and costs. An engineering-led team that tests before it claims.

We're not alone. Other companies have already flown and recovered return capsules, which tells us the need is real. Our focus is making return practical for small payloads launched from India.

WHY MICROGRAVITY

Take gravity away, and things behave differently.

On Earth, heavy particles sink and warm liquids churn. In orbit, that stops. Crystals, materials and living cells can form and grow in ways that are hard to reproduce on the ground.

MEDICINES

Drug crystals can grow more evenly, helping scientists understand how medicines form.

MATERIALS

Metals, glass and semiconductor materials can mix and set more uniformly.

LIFE SCIENCES

Cells and tissues can behave differently, revealing biology that's hard to see on Earth.

But the science has to come home.

Most experiments need to be back in a lab on Earth to be studied.

AREAS OF USE

Built for experiments that need to come home.

Zavity is focusing on compact, high-value research missions where retrieving the experiment materially changes what can be learned on Earth.

A01

Life sciences

Microgravity investigations where biological specimens need terrestrial post-flight analysis, comparison, or continued study.

Cell biology / tissue studies / microorganisms / biotechnology

A02

Pharmaceutical research

Experiments where the returned physical material is a key scientific output rather than telemetry alone.

Crystallisation / formulation studies / biological compounds

A03

Advanced materials

Materials processed or exposed in microgravity and returned for detailed terrestrial characterisation.

Alloys / composites / crystals / semiconductor research

A04

Space hardware

Components and experimental hardware that benefit from direct inspection after exposure to the orbital environment.

Sensors / electronics / materials / subsystem experiments

A05

In-space manufacturing

Emerging processes in which material or products made in microgravity ultimately need a physical route back to Earth.

Process demonstrations / early production experiments

Built by aerospace engineers and builders.
